3 Phoenix, Inc. (3Pi) was awarded a Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA)/Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) to apply N07-213 technologies to develop radar clutter discrimination technologies to provide a substantial performance improvement for radar periscope detection and discrimination. This technology includes algorithms to perform detection of targets in heavy clutter, algorithms for extracting novel physics-based target features, and classifier technology for discriminating sea spikes from periscopes. This technology is being applied to the AN/SPS-74(V) program.
